May is designated as National Children's Mental Health Awareness Month—an effort by the mental health community to bring awareness to growing children's mental health concerns in the United States. Although children's mental health is not a widely acknowledged or discussed topic, Mississippi Children's Home Services (MCHS) is working to open that dialogue and bring about an environment of acceptance, encouragement and healing.

As the state's largest non-profit provider of children's behavioral health, educational and social services, Mississippi Children's Home Services (MCHS) will discuss key legislation that affects children in Mississippi at their annual Day at the Capitol. Tomorrow, February 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the first floor rotunda of the Mississippi State Capitol, MCHS will host an opportunity to discuss the many issues facing Mississippi's children with elected state officials.
